Charlie's Pif to help to create an all-inclusive playground

Charlie Fredricks
Charlie Fredricks 2025 Pay it Forward Grant Recipient.

We're excited to share how Charlie Fredericks chose to use his Pay-It-Forward Grant and the impact his thoughtful decision will have on the Grand Ledge community.

Charlie wanted his project to make a lasting difference, and after giving it a lot of thought, he decided the best way to do that was by donating his grant to the City of Grand Ledge's All-Inclusive Playground project.

This decision was especially meaningful to Charlie because he remembers spending many summer days growing up and playing with friends at Jaycee Park. Those memories inspired him to help create a space where all children can experience that same joy of playing together.

All-inclusive playgrounds are specially designed spaces that allow children and adults of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds to play side by side. These playgrounds go beyond standard accessibility by including sensory-rich equipment, ramps, adaptive swings, and cushioned, wheelchair-friendly surfaces that support physical, social, and emotional development for everyone.

Charlie's choice reflects something powerful: kindness can create opportunities for others for years to come. By contributing to this project, he is helping ensure that children of all abilities will have a place to play, connect, and belong.

Charlie, thank you for thinking beyond today and choosing a project that will bring joy to families in our community for years to come.
