Some students see the trophies in their school hallways. Brooklyn saw something more.

As a student athlete, Brooklyn is used to walking into school and seeing displays that celebrate sports achievements and accomplishments. While she appreciates those moments of pride, she also began thinking about another side of school spirit , kindness, inclusion, and the way we treat one another every day.

That thought sparked her Pay-It-Forward Grant idea.

Brooklyn decided to create a community kindness art project for Charlotte Middle School, one that would involve not just students, but the broader Charlotte community as well. Her vision is to invite people to create individual ceramic tiles that reflect kindness, positivity, and the goodness that exists in each of us.

Each tile will be unique on its own, but when they are brought together, they will form one collective piece of art, a visual reminder that while we are all different, we are strongest when we come together.

Brooklyn is even collaborating with the school's shop class to help design and build the display case that will hold the finished artwork. Once completed, the installation will greet students and visitors as they enter the school, serving as a daily reminder that Charlotte Schools is a place where everyone belongs.

Brooklyn's project beautifully captures what The Ev Effect is all about, creating moments that encourage people to see the good in one another and to lead with kindness.

Because of Brooklyn's vision, a simple idea is becoming a lasting symbol of inclusion and community.
