The Ev Effect is a nonprofit organization created in memory of Everson Guild—a spirited, kind, and inclusive young person whose life continues to inspire those around him. Based on Everson Guild's Guide to Being Awesome, The Ev Effect was founded to empower middle school students to live with intention, lead with kindness, and make a difference in their communities.
Our mission is to plant seeds of generosity by encouraging students to embrace positivity, respect, integrity, and a passion for helping others. We do this by recognizing students who embody these values and equipping them with Pay-It-Forward Grants. These grants give them the opportunity to create meaningful change in their schools, neighborhoods, and beyond.
Through teacher-nominated Spirit Awards and carefully guided support, students are encouraged to dream big, act boldly, and build confidence in who they are. Whether they're supporting a classmate, launching a kindness campaign, or improving their school environment, our recipients are proving that one small act can lead to something much bigger.
At The Ev Effect, we believe that by giving students the tools and encouragement to take action now, we can inspire a lifelong commitment to empathy, generosity, and leadership. Because when we lift others up, we all rise.
The Ev Effect is currently partnered with Grand Ledge Public Schools via the Everson Guild Grand Ledge Middle School Comet PRIDE Spirit Award. Nominated by teachers and staff, all students in the 7th grade and 8th grade who attend Beagle Middle School are eligible to participate in the program. Winners are chosen by demonstrating Comet PRIDE (Positive, Respectful, Integrity, Determiatnion, Effort). Each recipient is given a budget of $250.00, asked to create a presentation as to how they wish to pay it forward within the Grand Ledge community, and the EV Effect will act on their behalf to ensure their plan is executed.
